I work for a small IT services company in Fairfax that is in need of a senior administrator for a Department of Defense contract in Arlington. While the official requirements for this job include 7-9 years of "action officer" experience, we are willing to consider less experienced candidates who have an energetic outlook and a respectful attitude.

The senior administrator...
+ interprets and composes complex correspondences and presentations, including charts and diagrams directly supporting the DoD Enterprise infrastructure, IT goals, and projects.
+ applies effective networking skills to carry out job responsibilities.
+ gathers pertinent information from a variety of sources to perform duties.
+ resolves administrative issues.
+ addresses problems that arise and recommends process improvements.
+ ensures timely completion of multiple work projects and other responsibilities (i.e. training/ status reporting, etc.).
+ prepares reports and correspondences from information gathered to support the entire effort.
+ interprets and applies standard policies and procedures to respond to complex inquiries, to resolve issues.

Army experience, Knowledge Management experience, and/or action officer experience are greatly desired. The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is mandatory.

Depot Busing Petition

Dear Alumni:

The PTSA is circulating a petition to oppose depot busing which the county proposes. Depot busing means that most students would be dropped off at a location no longer in walking distance from their home, such as their base school. This dramatically disrupts working families... among creating other issues for students... here's the note from the PTSA:

We would be grateful if you could forward the following link about the FCPS proposal to eliminate afternoon neighborhood busing for TJ kids. It would be very detrimental to TJ families to have this option eliminated - plus I believe we are the only high school in the county where this is proposed. So many dual working families would be adversely affected - I hope you might be able to support this e petition

The Inside Sales Representative will assist in helping the company reach its quarterly and annual growth goals by meeting and exceeding targets for new appointments and pipeline growth. Work closely with the Sales Directors to develop and maintain target lists to proactively call and qualify

Qualify leads then schedule qualified lead appointments for Sales Directors

Update and maintain an accurate database of leads, contacts, accounts and opportunities within our internal CRM system

Nurture prospects over time by maintaining a file of warm opportunities that require multiple touches over time

QUALIFICATIONS

3-5 years inside sales experience, attaining or exceeding annual sales quota in a complex selling environment, preferably ERP or other enterprise software (e.g. ERP, CRM, SCM, BI and Analysis).

4 Year degree in technical or business area

High success rates in new account generation and scheduling new business appointments

High volume use of the phone with exceptional presence and ability to build trust, rapport, qualify, and schedule quality appointments with executive level audience (VP Internal Audit, CFO, Corp Controller)

Successful use of technology to create a qualified prospect (e.g., WebEx, web demos, email, voicemail)

Exceptional time management and organization to prioritize activities appropriately, determine which to act on first and handle multiple sales opportunities simultaneously

Solid success in profiling accounts, delivering value propositions and account qualification

Demonstrated success with executive level audience and multi-level selling; finance, audit, lines of business, and IT security

Leadership workshop in NYC for college students interested in international development and social entrepreneurship!

I'm a class of '96 alum working in NYC at Acumen Fund (www.acumenfund.org), a social venture fund that is using business, market-based approaches, and entrepreneurship to help solve the problems of poverty in the developing world. We just announced our 1st ever Student Leaders Workshop designed to provide college students an opportunity to learn about the emerging social enterprise sector, how to prepare for careers in the space, and what they can do to contribute to the movement at their respective universities.
